Section 2.4 Attendance and Participation
Attendance will be taken during every 50-minutes of in-person or remote instruction, and counts for 25 course points. Students who have been observed by the instructor as either frequently absent or late to class or non-participatory may be subject to point deductions from their overall course score. Students are responsible for obtaining lecture notes from their classmates for any classes missed. At any point during the semester, students may be asked to provide proper documentation to the Office of Student Affairs, justifying any absence from the University.
Successful completion of this course requires active participation on the part of the student. To help promote classroom engagement and motivate student success, the instructor will make every effort to encourage active participation in a supportive learning environment. Consequently, students will be expected to attend any lecture or recitations on time and ready to contribute. Any student who cannot meet these expectations for whatever reason should notify the instructor formally with their concerns.
